I've been playing cat and mouse with this buck for nearly 3 weeks now. No clue honestly how I didn't manage to kill him but that's neither here nor there. I didn't notice the injury until last night, and even then I didn't pay attention to it until I got this shed picture this afternoon. I've gone back through pictures trying to figure out exactly what day he was injured but I still haven't figured it out. He also looks worse today than he did 5 days ago. Anyone have an idea as to what might have happened? Buck fight? Hit by a car? Whatever it was I hope he survives the winter to I can chase him around again next year.

I say something got ahold of him good. I don't see how an auto would do that.

I would wait a week and let him rest before doing any brush busting. I would hate to stree him more and give him a chance to make it. I might also put out some food. Are there any antibiotics for cattle that could be put out?

I would look in the field for the sheds though. Hope you find them.
