Deer hunting in putnam county

I am a college student at TTU and I need to find some local places to hunt. I am from east Tn and do not know this area well outside of cookeville city and the campus. I was hoping someone would have some helpful information on some places I should check out.

Jackson county has a few WMAs. Roughly 30 minutes or less from tech

All of the land around center hill lake is corps of engineers land and is public.

There's not really anything public in Putnam.like others have said Jackson,has wma and corp,places around Center Hill,and Standing Stone,there is quit a few but all 30min to hour drive from Tech.If you need directions to any PM me and I can tell you how to get to them.

As a student at Tech, I hunted Cordell Hull a lot. It's just about 30 minutes from Campus in the Gainesboro area.

Look at Cordell Hull and Standing Stone. Both great hunting and offer any terrain you want.

Standing Stone is in Livingston., bout thirty min from ya with good hunting as soon as u step out of the truck.

There is a lot of hogs in standing stone now which seems to have slowed the deer hunting down some IMO
