The foodplot is up and very thick. It consist of purple and seven top turnips. Durana, ladino, kenland red and crimson for my clovers. Iron and clay peas, austrian winter peas, wheat, oats and kale. A substantial mix of seeds but it turned out nice! Today I planted 4 chinese chestnuts, 3 kiefer pears, 3 ayer pears, 4 arkansas black, 1 horse apple, 1 gala and 4 sawtooth oaks. And because of BSK and the rain dance......its raining! All is good.
 
Bet you would never had guessed this as deer food...

Deer have been observed eating everything from dead fish along the shores of Lake Michigan to dead porcupines and live baby quail.

Deer can be strange for sure! I myself saw them eating dead shad on the banks of Norris lake one year! Actually submerging their entire head a few times to pick one up in shallow water. I have saw them do the same for Acorns.

I have read about that in one magazine one time. Wow eating a rabbit! Man deer have some unusal habits.

would you believe ive saw deer chewing on a gut pile.im not talking about eating something in the guts like acorns and such.this was maybe 10-15 years ago i shot a 8 pointer on muzzloloader gutted him in the woods went back 2 days later and saw a doe chewing on sum intestines.looked like she was eatin spaghetti.ive also seem em dig through a gut pile and eat the leftovers from a deers gut(corn).
