As long as he fires CBJ at the end of the season I will give him the benefit of the doubt all the way up until he hires the new head coach, then I will re evaluate my feelings towards him. I get the feeling that he is trying to figure out a way to let CBJ stay longer.
i know his dad well. theres nothing they want more than for him to play at ut. i think they are just trying to send a little messagePillsburyDoughboy":3dzod98o said:https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/tennessee-football/rocky-bottom-5-star-vol-legacy-cade-mays-decommits-tennessee-visiting-georgia/

Did you check with the resident gator fans before you posted this?farmin68":19pawlrn said:Butch is gone. It appears he hasn't been told yet, as there are reports that Butch is working some big donors hard in hopes of a 6th season, but it's a waste of time. Butch has 19 days left at best.

That's going to make for some interesting and lively discussion here.TreyB":3fr9e3xh said:cbhunter":3fr9e3xh said:You snooze you lose and unfortunately TN is doing a lot of snoozing these days. Don't be surprised if Butch is coaching at TN next year.

No worries. If it gets too lively, it'll get deleted.PalsPal":3ki6yu0i said:PillsburyDoughboy":3ki6yu0i said:That's going to make for some interesting and lively discussion here.
Maybe, if it happened. It won't.

How do you know UT is snoozing?
Currie is going to have to earn my confidence as an AD that is really committed to bringing UT football back to competing for national titles. However, I do have confidence that he hasn't been doing nothing while Jones' bricks come tumbling down.
I want Butch out as much as anyone, but firing a coach mid-season isn't always a good idea. It didn't work out so well for the Gators Saturday.
So let me get this straight...he is telling people he thinks he will be in play for those schools next year but they have t even fired their coaches. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: good source!! :tu:PalsPal":v4dfncq0 said:From folks I trust Butch is telling folks close to him that he thinks he will be in play at UNC and the Arizona schools.

Snoozing is an expression. CBJ has snoozed all year, all his assistants have snoozed all year, Kongbo has snoozed all year, Jumper has snoozed all year, ALOT of other players have snoozed all year.
I agree that firing a coach mid season is not always the best Idea but It dang sure wouldn't have hurt anything (in this case) IMO. I think the current players as well as recruits are seeing that Currie is looking for a reason to keep CBJ around longer.
Currie has snoozed by being so silent throughout all the anguish and record lows. I think he should be more open with his thought process. Only thoughts he has shared is that he "chooses to support the coaching staff" (more or less, I cant recall the exact statement.)
I could go on and on but no sense in it.![]()

He would recruit a bunch of 3 stars out of Alabama, Georgia, and Florida, and coach them up. They would have huge chips on their shoulders and he'd motivate them to take it out on the big schools in those states that didn't recruit them and he'd win.
