I am picking up my first AR this evening.... I would like to put a decent scope on it, but it looks like $100.00 is the limit.... Maybe $120.00....

Is this possible? Any recommendations? It will be used for short to mid-range shooting......

Thanks,

Stick with open sights till you have more to spend. It'll be worth it.

What do you want to do with it? Zombie slayer, varmints, paper poker...... scope choice is going to depend on this.

absolutely agree

I'm not sure it is valid to use "decent scope" and "$100 limit" in the same sentence. Since you say you're using it for close to mid range shooting, it looks like you need to check into the 1-4x scopes. There are many decent scopes for less than $350: Burris TAC30, Nikon M223, Leaterwood CMR to name a few. I recently did a lot of research on this class of scope and settled on the Leatherwood CMR 1-4x. I paid $330 for the scope and a Burris PEPR mount combined. I will use it for 3-gun competition. Good luck.

Here you go, on sale for less than 1/2 price, don't think you can go wrong at this price.
