Been shooting alot, trying different powder, bullets, and sabots here lately,I think I might have finally found a decent shooting load in my savage 10ML. Im shooting the MMP HPH-12 sabot with the .452 250gr Hornady FTX bullet.I tried 3 differnt powder loads of Vihvitouri N110.I shot 3 3 shot groups.1 group with 38grs of N110, another 3 shot group with 40grs N110 and another with 42grs of N110.Im leaning towards the 42grs of N110.

Your vent liner needs changed, your bore needs scrubbed about 250-300 strokes with JB, and you need to up the 110 or try 4759. 43-47 grains of 4759 or 110 with a 250. Basically, your loads thus far are weak and you are chasing your tail needlessly. Down by 1 with a 300. Shoot for 2300 with a 250 and 2100 with a 300 with the above charge recommendations.

I don't know why you seem to think 42grs of N110 and a 250gr FTX are on the weak side. While I don't have a chrono, the guys on dougsmessage board have run this same load and they are getting 2300 FPS...Thats pretty good if you ask me.Don't know why a person would need anymore speed than that. But I will be trying 44grs and 46 grs of N110 in the coming days,as soon as I get some more FTX's.. And I just changed the ventliner about 10 shots ago.

The guys on Dougs website are the best. I have shot ALL of the loads listed in your link. I developed many of the loads that are listed on the whole link. I do not think I am wrong in my assessment. I will be in Scott Co. in two weeks and will be happy to fix your problem.

Also- If you do not have a chrono, you DO NOT KNOW your speed. You can GUESS, but that is all. The guys on Doug's are giving YOU their GUESS. I have seen different lots of n110/4759 vary by +/- 100fps. Your load of 42g will not break 2,200 fps. (My guess).

I will bring my chrono.

I'll be shooting 44 and 46grs of N110 with the FTX as soon as my FTX's get here.I would love to shoot with someone that is experienced with the savage and shoot through a chrono but I don't have a place to shoot in Scott co,I have to drive out to Catoosa and shoot at that one.
