Well it was a short hunt this morning. We walked out the door this morning a few minutes before 6. We were in the stand by 6:11. I thought I heard something a couple of times walking but I never did spot anything. Then I catch movement and I can tell it's a deer walking from the left to our right about 50 yards in front of us. The buck ended up turning and walked back toward us. I think he was headed to the scrape which was to our left. I get the gun out of one of the windows and tell her to get ready. I cocked back the hammer. The buck stopped and he has us pegged at about 25 yards. I said if you have a clear opening, take the shot. Boom! I stick my head out and see him running away. I look at my phone and it's 627. Not sure if she hit him, hit a limb or what happened. He did have his tail down when he ran away. She said wow, that happened fast. I said that is how it happens sometimes. We climb down around 7am. We walked to were he was standing and find a few drops of blood. Then find a few more. I said you stand right there and I am going to walk around these briars and look for more blood in the direction I saw him go. I grabbed at my binoculars and glasses around the woods. I spot some white and said come over here. We walked on down to her buck and I shot this little video.

Thanks everyone! She has turned out to be a good little hunter. And it is really cool that she killed him on our property. We walked out the back door and my wife was drinking her coffee. Right after the shot, both over phones got a message. "Is everything ok?" Evelyn texts her back,"I just shot a buck!" We all are still amazed at how quick the hunt was. I guess the small food plots I planted are helping to hold more deer on our 46 acres. It's a great feeling to be able to walk out your back door and harvest a nice buck!
