Have had a lot of good deer on camera this year with the heavy acorn crop and haven't had much time to get after them. Got in early and this guy came in right on schedule about 7am. He ended up catching our movement as he was right under us but calmed down and went back to feeding on acorns. 5 yard shot at a 45 degree angle. He mule kicked and ran about 10 feet then spun and fell. Few minutes later got back up and took a couple steps and fell again while I was trying to reload. He then army crawled off into some bushes. Other deer were all around and we waited an hour for them to dissipate. She likes to see everyone's comments so I posted it here instead of only in the "live" thread. Thanks everyone!

Great work on a tough shot! That deer seems to have been a fighter.

Is that the exit wound we see in the pic or had you already dressed him?

Exit wound. He was slightly quartered away. Told her to hold a little high and she hit him a little high and tad back on our side and exited low and forward on the far side. Got both lungs but surprisingly very little blood on the ground. He had it pouring from his nose as he was getting back up so I knew he was hit good

Guess since it punched the front of the lungs, most cavity volume was still pushing air to the nose, like a bagpipe.
