She lost one the last day of muzzleloader that we didn't find after 2 days of looking — out of 18 years hunting together I think that is only the second one that either of us have lost (knock on wood). But we both felt terrible. Hopefully, he's still on the hoof.
But yesterday, she dropped this one in its tracks, 100 yards with Ruger 7mm08. She said it flipped in the air and didn't move. With CWD rules/guidelines we were aiming for any decent 2.5 yr or better. We think this one would be 3.5 based on neck and body structure but didn't age the teeth. He weighed 190 on the processor's scales. I think it is same one my MZ misfired on last Friday.
She had a bigger one cross behind her but could not get a clean shot about 30 min earlier headed into the same pocket of woods that this one came out of at 7:50 am. Haywood County.
