Was walking in earlier to a new spot that I scouted 3 weeks ago. This spot showed a lot of sign with rubs and scrapes. I got almost to the tree I was planning on climbing and notice a tail flicker. Pulled up the binos and shore enough there he stood. I can't score a deer for nothing but I have a 130" on the wall (buddy scored him for me)and this guy was way bigger than that one. Don't believe I spooked him but he was down wind and headed the other direction. Should have been here at 1:00 instead of 2:00 I guess. I'll set here till dark or till the storm runs me out.

I always hate bumping them before I am set up and ready. Did he come back?

No I didn't see him again. The storm rolled in faster than I was expecting. Had to get out of there. I don't believe I bumped him. He appeared to be browsing on acorns or persimmons (both are where he was)when I spotted him. He didn't hurry off.
I realized after I climbed a tree that it may be just too thick to hunt from a tree stand in that location. Next time I'll play the wind and set up in a little more open spot outside of this area.
