Dan Infalt (the hunting beast) guy

I saw him on one of the hunting public shows a while back but I don't know anything about him. Out of boredom the other night I did a google search of him trying to learn more about him and his tactics..... and there is all kind of stuff podcast, Facebook,YouTube,DVD 's, and a hunting forum of his. Which is good, but my question to you guys that may keep up with him is steer me in the right direction on the best info please. I don't have Facebook or do podcasts and would buy those dvds and watch To pass the time if some of you guys might recommend it....thanks in advance!

Dan is an incredible hunter and has freely shared information that he has gathered over the years in regards to buck bed hunting. Read as much as you can from him, it in no way can make you a worse hunter I promise.

I know you said that you don't do podcasts, but I'd highly recommend that you down load an app to your phone and start listening to them. It's one of the most simple, free, way to gain a vast amount of knowledge.

^^^ Dan's wife is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator (Carol's Critter Care), and they are coon lovers, so they are not in favor of coon hunting and killing coons. See the link below and read Tennessee Lead's comment. :tu:

After talking deer hunting with him for the better part of two years, I came to the conclusion that I need to deer hunt more days (basically study it day and night for 365 days a year), bow hunt early season when the bucks are predictable and can be patterned, and hunt the Midwest, with emphasis on Buffalo County, WI and Iowa if I wanted to routinely shoot the big bucks they did with archery equipment. While I learned some stuff, I quickly realized I was comparing apples to oranges when comparing their season structure, bag limits, length of season and hunting style to what I typically experience here in TN. Good luck in your pursuit of knowledge.

Exactly what i concluded also. Ive taken partial tactics here and there and squeezed them into what i was already doing. I have learned some interesting theories from the hunting beast. But they dont bed or behave quite the same here in TN

I wouldn't support anything Dan Infalt. The way they've reacted to coon hunting says to me that they aren't good for the hunting community. We may not all pursue the same game, but we can't ostracize those who hunt things other than we ourselves do. This is a manifest irrationality and I wouldn't want Infalt speaking on my behalf, when I could choose a rational human being.

I watched a hunting video of his once. Was nothing of meaning for me in it either.

Dan is a proven killer where he lives and hunts. His tactics work where he lives and hunts. He has workshop weekends where he is sold out at (I think) $250 a person nearly year round. He is doing something right. I think it hilarious for people to think they cannot learn anything from him.
The guy owns and runs a website where he don't allow pics of dead raccoons. So what. It's a deer hunting forum. Go to raccoon hunters are us if you want to show pics of dead coons. I really don't see the big deal. To each his own.
I have watched several of his videos and videos from guys that have attended his workshop. I think he's doing so pretty good things, some things I hope to use others not so much.
I also like John Eberhart. He seems like a pretty good guy. Proven killer where he lives and hunts. He is doing the exact opposite of Beast tactics. All about scent control and hunting high. I do some of the thing he does but not all of them.
I don't know how successful either would be here in TN but I still think I learn something from both of them.

I need to learn something from someone for sure!! Lol

I think it's $500/workshop.

Did you listen to the three-part series on the Down South Hunting podcast last year that featured Dan and John Eberhart? He was a total class act and did a great job getting his points across on why thermals and wind work to his advantage and why suits and sprays may not.

What little bit I've watched and heard from Dan, he seems legit. One of my favorite "The Hunting Public" set of YouTube videos is when him and his buddy tag along and show how they go in blind and proceed.

As for coons. You have to read Tennessee Leads post of how it all went down, it's hilarious and has nothing to do with pictures of dead raccoons at all.

I also like his dislike for scent products, probably my favorite aspect of him.

This was several years ago, around 2015 if I recall correctly.

I am on the hunting beast nearly every day. Anyone that is interested in furthering their deer hunting, particularly mature buck hunting, would benefit from the collection of knowledge shared there. There's more southern guys on than you'd think, also.

If you watch the The Hunting Beast DVDs there are clips from the scouting workshop he did at LBL. I personally highly recommend his DVDs. As a guy who didn't start hunting deer seriously until my mid 30s, Dan's information on his DVD's and the hunting beast has shaved years off my learning curve.
