Well, knew it would happen to a few trees during the logging. What do you guys recommend to paint on the exposed areas to hopefully prevent decay/insect damage?
 
I have used spray undercoat from auto parts store on deer rubbed apple trees. Worked fine.

lol...save your money! There's a big difference between logging damage and pruning wounds. If your trees are catfaced from loggs skidding, they may live for years but they're not coming back from it!

Yep, he has scarred a few which I knew would happen. Most about the size of a small plate. I am going to give it a stab and see what happens.
