Dam under Bell Road - Help

Can anyone tell me about the fishing beneath the Percy Priest Dam on Bell Road, (Visible from I-40)?

What is biting this time of year?

What are they biting?

What kind of crowd is usually there?

Any special permits needed?

I probably can't be much help since I haven't fished in that he11 hole in over 20 years but here is some starter information.

The major fish species they catch are trout...when they stock them and stripers. At one time, it was pretty fair sauger fishing. No special permits needed. I believe you have to wear a life jacket but that may be only if you are in a boat.

Surely someone on here has more recent info.

If you can get up to the pool right below the powerhouse, I used to catch a bunch of crappie and white bass in there this time of year. I haven't been down there since I lived in Antioch several years ago though.
