Went on a week long trip to dale hollow last week with a friend I met here on Tndeer and a few others.... well here I finally got the pics uploaded. Not much to show in the fish department, the fishing was slower than anyone had seen it before. but there were still a few caught. The walleye were the best eating but I didn't manage to catch any myself. Even the smallmouth I caught were small, but at least there were a few fish biting.

First fish after arriving at camp... from the bank on a live shiner

I hopefully will go on the next trip sometime in October and hope for some better fishing too. But I can't complain, it was a very nice vacation...

Thanks again eyeseeker for inviting me on the trip. Definitely worth while even with slow fishing.

I love the frog pic. It looks like he is saying "come on man, let me go". All the pics are good and they make me want to go camping and fishing.

The trout is a dandy! And correct me if I'm wrong but the first bass pic, isn't that a Coosa? There is a river close to me full of those things.
I'm pretty sure it's a smallmouth, coosa have bright red eyes don't they?

I was told there are two types of smallmouth that inhabit the lake and one is the deep water type that gets bigger and has no vertical bars.... I guess this was just a young one coming up for a tiny torpedo breakfast

Man, don't you know a brown recluse can kill you? :D
doubt it would kill me, but I don't want to know what it would do to my flesh if one bit me.... thankfully, I was only holding a wolf spider. :D

Glad you had a great trip Catman, hopefully next time the fish will cooperate ! Not sure exactly what week the fall trip will be this year but go ahead and start planning on next years June trip. For the rest of ya'll...the women outfished the men big time ! My wife landed 2 walleye over 5lbs on the trip, while I was skunked on them. The other guy that plans and hosts the trip...his wife caught a 9lber and a 7lber and all he managed was a short fish about 15 inches ! We're blaming it on the weather right now....the water was 10 degress warmer than the last few years and warmer alot deeper too.

Actually that trout was small for what we are used too ! Our average rainbow will usually push 3 lbs + and almost always have a couple around 9-10. The lake is very warm this year and to a deeper depth.
We camped in the Sulpher Creek arm of the lake as we have for several years now. Before that we camped at Graveyard Island, Clark Island, Big Goat Island, Moore Hollow or Geiger. We have stayed at most of the sites at some point and like our present site the best...but scouted one this year that may be better ! Two walleye (7# and 9#) were caught within site of camp this year and really the only reason the fishing sucked was because the ladies outfished us guys by a ton ! The wife has told me that she wants to go back again in late Sept or Oct and I'm looking forward to it as several years ago when I was up at that time of year the fishing was fantastic...hopefully make up for this trips below average fishing.
