CZ Rifles?

I was in our local gun shop the other day and he had 3 Cz centerfires (I can't remember the exact model) on the shelf I handled one and it felt and looked really nice do any of you have any experience with these? He is asking 599 for the blued wood stock 699 for stainless is that a fair price?

My Dad has a CZ 527 in 204. The thing is is almost boring, it shoots about 4 different factory loads in a 1/2 inch or less.

I have the CZ 527 American in 204. Very accurate and fun to shoot. At 6.5 pounds this gun is the perfect predator rifle.

I have a buddy with one in .223 I don't think you can give him enough cash for it. I like it some but I'd rather stick with my Tikka's.

I have a CZ550 in .243...

Pros:
- All Steel
- Decent wood to metal fit
- Set trigger
- Magazine fed
- Includes rings


Cons:
- Barrel wasn't truly free floated
- Bolt handle rides high...Therefore, forget low rings
- Cannot top load magazine
- Heavy
- Rough bore
- bulky stock (they've since re-designed the stocks)

With that said, once I had the stock bedded and a trigger job performed, the gun became a great shooter. It's a little heavier than I like for a .243 and in the 550 models, there is only one action available (long). I think I gave $490 for mine several years ago. It's a well made, all steel gun with some features that aren't offered on other models.

I can't look at a CZ and not think of Charlie Ingram or Dirt pushing them on TV.

CZ wood can be hit or miss. Mine looks like gorilla snot compared to the nice wood above. Had I not ordered mine, I would have been window shopping for the nicest wood.
