I know I am taking a big risk posting this, now the official TNDeer forum watchers at the White House will know I am buying this. But what the heck I like livin on the edge. Anyway I have been saving for quite some time and finally ordered the CZ 527 American in 22 Hornet I have been wanting. Could not believe it but even they have dried up in the past week. I ended up ordering from KyGunCo as they showed one in stock in "real time inventory". I tried to get one through the ffl I use but even he could not find any and said if Kygun had one I better go ahead and get it. Anyway ordered today, now to see how long it will take to get here with the holidays and all the panic buying. Hoping to break it in New Years Day.

I too am getting a 22 hornet Ruger m77. Went to the local shop and a gentlemen was trading one in. I also have the new savage 17 hornet and it's a blast to shoot. Now if i could just get to building my 10/22.

I was torn between the Ruger and CZ. I have a CZ 452 Scout and love that one. I did a lot of research on the Ruger forum and Rimfirecentral. The RFC forum seems to be magnet for the CZ guys. Even the concencus on the Ruger forum was the CZ is heads and tails better than the 77 in the 22Hornet. Apparently the 77 needs to be sent off for work if you want the accuracy the CZ has right out of the box. Seems most are rechambering to 22KHornet. The CZ also comes standard with the single set trigger. I love Ruger firemarms but I do believe CZ is producing the best rifles for the money right now.

We'll just have to see. I couldn't pass it up because it was nice and half of a new cz or ruger. I'd been looking for one used for awhile really wanted the walnut but settled with the laminate heavy barrel. If u hadn't tried one u need to check out the 17 hornet same ballistics as a 223 pretty amazing lil round also. CZ is fixing to put one out. U could have twin hornets.

the 527 action is really nice,,it will be rough out of the box but smooths up really nice,,the trigger is awesome,

a 527 Carbine is on my short list

Does it smooth up by use, or did you do some polishing work to yours. If by use how many rounds until you notice a change for the better.

I recently bought a used 527 in 221 fireball, and I thought the action was a little rough too.
How long does it take to smooth out Mr. Big?

Did you buy that at the last Knoxville gunshow? I saw a 527 in 221 fireball there for sale.

in a couple hundred rounds it will really slick up,,mine has about 2,100 rounds and it is like greased ball bearings,,it does help to polish the feed lips in the magazine,,it seemed to me most of the breaking in was the rough edges on the inside edge of the feed lips..

Jim Calhoun makes a Single Shot mag that makes it really smooth.

when you are watching TV before bed just sit in your recliner and work the bolt,,it may help to cover the mating surfaces in JB bore paste and run 8-10 mags loaded with empty brass through it ever night for about a week,,

and BTW make sure you get all the brownish gook they pack them in out of the barrel before shooting..

No, I got it from a guy on 24hourcampfire a couple months ago

Got it in yesterday from my FFL. Looks like it may be the last one in the country for now until CZ gets caught up. Ordered on Dec 20 and arrived Jan 8.

That is one nice gun. I have a CZ452 22lr and a CZ 550 in 7x57. My hornet is a Ruger. The hornet is a fun round and can do some damage.
