I see where several people have replied to a few threads about buying a new muzzleloader.... suggesting the CVA Optima.

What are you guys that are using the Optima V2 using for your loads when getting your best results?

100grains of blackhorn and 250 grain Barnes. Was shooting 1" groups at 100yds out of my optima

I too am getting great accuracy from my optima v2 but with 120 grains of fffg american pioneer powder and a 250 grain shockwave bullet.I would like to try the blackhorn powder but i dont have the blackhorn breechplug.Alot of people dont like the pioneer powder but ive had good luck with it.

I've use mostly Blackhorn 209 in mine. I use White Hots for fast reloads. they shoot to the same point of impact.

As for Sabot bullet combos I must have gotten lucky with mine. I tried a couple of different sabots. MMP orange and MMP short black. also tried the Harvester Black Ribbed. Got consistent results with all. All shot to about the same point of impact with 300 grain bullets.

I love the White hots.

I use 100 grn pellets of white hots behind the 350 grn Hornady FPB and like the results. I have to say I haven't tried much else in this gun because I gave up power belts earlier. I have killed three nice bucks with this gun/combination.
