Ive tried everything new scopes bullets poweder and all that but cant get any consistent results. Any one had problems with this? Accuracy is crap right now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My mom, dad, and brother all bought a CVA Wolf a few years ago. Two of the three shot extremely well. My dad tried everything like you have and nevery could get his to shoot accurarely. He eventually bought an optima and loves it. I know it is not an optima but sounds like a lemon. I have a wolf and an oprima pistol and wouldn't trade them for any other muzzle loader on the market. I hope you get it figured out.

And I dont know why but after the first shot the rest of them are extremely tough to seat.

They recommend the white hot pellets 100 grains but im thinking maybe it the casing the bullets come with? I know they are suppose to have a tight seal but these im thinking are a little too tight? Can I pick some up from walmart or somewhere like that or am I going to have to order them.

I have the Accura V2 LR it shoots great I use 150 grains whitehots 270 grain power belt magnum bullets. Try the power belt Aero light 250 grain with 100 grain whitehots

Everyone has a load they like but I spent hundreds of dollars finding the best bullet for my Optima before I went bow only a few years ago. Accuracy wise, I could never beat a 250gr Shockwave with the yellow superglide sabot. I could go up to 120gr of powder with no accuracy loss. I've had great luck with the White Hots, Triple 7 pellets and Buckhorn. My favorite bullet was the Barnes Expander MZ but it never shot quite as well as the shockwaves. For someone critical on accuracy I could never recommend a Powerbelt. They were always way too loose in my guns and accuracy suffered

My cousin owned one and had the same problem. 3 people, several different types of ammo and powders and thorough cleaning and it would not shoot within even killing shots each time. Needless to say he sold it and hasn't owned a CVA since.

This^^^^^^ don't go with a power belt. I know they are easy to load but that's not good. They are too loose in the barrel. Basically bouncing on the way out causing poor accuracy. I shoot the Hornady lock and load speed sabot. 250 grain. Check them out. They shoot very well out of my traditions Vortek. Make sure you get the ones with the red casing around them. It has a very very tight fit which is what you want.

I'll never buy another CVA their supposed to have the only true/ best stainless barrel on the market my started to rust I called them and asked why would it rust my encore never started to rust and they asked me if I would like Thompsons number

You're not alone, my cousin bought a brand new one last year . We took it out and shot it and it was spraying bullets all over the target. We tried like 5 different kinds of bullets, tried different powder. We thought it might be the scope so he bought a new one, same results. He called CVA and they sent him the bullet, powder combo they recommend and still the same thing. They ended up sending him a whole new gun, he just got it back this past week, planning on shooting it today.

Funny how you two say that the Power Belts aren't good bullets. I shoot them in all 3 of my muzzle loaders with no problem. My T/C Bone Collecter loves the Areo light 250 grain with 100 grain whitehots my Traditions Pursuit loves the 295 grain with 100 grain whitehots and my new Accura V2 LR Nitride loves the 270 grain magnum with 150 grain whitehots. 2 muzzies shoot 1" groups @ 100 yards with the Accura V2 shooting a clover leave. Guess the saying is true that not all guns shoot or like the same loads I can't complain about power belts as they work for me

I just bought a CVA Optima V2 and using 2 triple 7 pellets with 300 gr powerbelt areolite bullets and Winchester 209 primers. Just as accurate as my rifle. Got my first muzzleloader kill yesterday and hit him in the heart. Give that combo a try but take your cleaning stuff to the range cause after 4 or 5 shots you can't get the bullet all the way in.

I have a new V2 that won't even come close to grouping. Last week while trying to line it up I break it open to take plug out to clean and now it won't lock back in place. I'm pretty much done with the optima.

What most everyone forgets while trying new loads in a M/L is the sabot does all the work! The bullet itself never touches the barrel. If you try 10 bullets but use the same sabot with all 10 you will end up with roughly the same groups and loading pressure. They make a bunch of different size sabots for a reason but most of the bullets you can get as a bullet/sabot package come with the same size black sabot.

PcDeer Pm me about the Optima I may be interested in buying it and trying to fix it.

I'm shooting 100 gr of Blackhorn 209 with the BH breech plug and Federal BOR bullets out of my Optima V2. They grouped just fine at the range.

Try lowering the powder load in increments if 5 grains . Too much powder will definitely make inconsistency . If your using too much your not getting a good burn . Old trick is get an old sheet shoot your gun over it and if you see powder then reduce the powder until there are no powder left . Tip of the day more is not always better , my old CVA shot the best at 70 grains .

I completely agree with this! I have never seen a M/L shoot its best with 150gr or equivalent of powder. Matter of fact most shoot all over the place with 150gr. All the ones I have messed with shot their best groups with no more than 110gr.

I use 2 triple seven pellets and 250 grain shockwaves and the holes touch at 100yds. I was having the same problem patterning with the aerolights and hornady.
