I just bought one with open sights to use on a Colorado elk hunt. What loads should I test?

I would contact Thor bullets and have him send you a sizing sample pack. Once you know which size fits your barrel the best give them a try. A Thor is a far better design than a Powerbelt and cost less than a PowerBelt Plat.

Another cheaper option is a good conical. NoExcuses makes a very affordable lead conical.

I know nothing about the Thor bullets other than looking at the site. Are they essentially a Barnes bullet that doesn't require a sabot.GMB54":27cnkcef said:You cant use sabots for the ML elk hunts in Colorado.

no problem! Order the .500" and find a socket thats in the .449-.450" range and just slightly flare the base yourself. You can actually custom size the thors very easily and get a perfect fit to your bore.String Music":17qdaekq said:FrontierGander":17qdaekq said:What size do you need?
