100gr by weight bh209 and a 250 tez Barnes is what I shoot in mine

Big or small, kill em all

100gr by weight of BH209?

Thats over 150gr by volume isnt it?

Shooting an accura here, but my understanding is the barrels are manufactured in the same place. It does real well with 115 grains loose triple 7 and 240 grain tc xtp mags. Don't know however about that bullet for elk. Works real well for deer at ranges from close on out to 175 yards(about the farthest I have shot deer with them), get good penetration and good retention on the bullets I have been able to recover.

You cant use sabots for the ML elk hunts in Colorado.

I would contact Thor bullets and have him send you a sizing sample pack. Once you know which size fits your barrel the best give them a try. A Thor is a far better design than a Powerbelt and cost less than a PowerBelt Plat.

Another cheaper option is a good conical. NoExcuses makes a very affordable lead conical.

I ended up choosing Thor bullets. Excellent reviews all over the internet. I read too many horror stories about Powerbelts and Hornady FPB. I contacted him a couple days ago and have a sample pack on its way.

I'm also going with Blackhorn 209 and CCI primers.

I know nothing about the Thor bullets other than looking at the site. Are they essentially a Barnes bullet that doesn't require a sabot.

Ive shot a lot of the newer cvas and all have shot the thors perfectly. All have done excellent with 100gr blackhorn209 and sized in .500"

That's awesome! I hope mine groups that well.

Well, I was unable to purchase the Thor bullets in the size I needed due to them being out of stock. So, I went with the new 350 grain Federal BOR bullets. We will see how it goes!
