Is there anyone that could tell me a good load recipe for the cva optima? My dad has a 50 caliber stainless version and we have just not found the right combo for it. It also hard as heck to load after the first shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated

got the clean the bore between each shot if you are using triple 7, pyrodex or american pioneer powder.

See my signature, a lot of info for the CVA rifles including loads for the Optima.

I use 100 grains of Pyrodex and a 245 grain Powerbelt hollow point in mine. Shoots pretty good. When sighting it in, I swabbed between shots with a patch with #13 bore cleaner then a dry patch. Seemed to make loading alot easier.

100 grains 777 pellets 240 grain Hornady XTP. shot great out of my optima the past few years

I have a cva accura with the stainless bergara barrel and just sighted it in 10/29/11 started with powerbelts and ended with 250 gr. t/c shockwaves useing 1 777 magnum pellet and 1 777 50/50 totaling 110 grains, shooting at 75 yards 1" high 3 shot group bullets are touching and I also used the t/c muzzleloader scope kit 3x9x40 $49.00 at Gander Mountain, very impressive for a cheap scope.

I just bought my accura v2 last spring and havent gotten to take a kill with it yet but i am using win primers, 777 2~50 pellets and 350 grn Hornady FPB's.....a little stiff getting started in the end of barrel but ok once fitted about 2 inches down. I hope these will continue to be the killers they were before as i have purchased about 4 packages of them. I have taken the last two great bucks i killed with them but it was in a winchester apex gun which incicentally was manufactured by cva for Winchester.
