CVA Electra

Anybody own one of the CVA Electra muzzleloaders? They have electronic ignition and use a 9 volt battery instead of a primer. I was thinking about trying one but wanted someones opinion of them before making a purchase.

I have one, Shoots great. My buddy shot it yesterday @ 200 yds after we lined it up. He hit within 2 inches of bullseye. Shooting off the back of a 4 wheeler. 105 gr 777 and 260 gr dead center sabot

Great gun but not good for the powder I shoot. Blackhorn 209 needs a really hot ignition.

it was illegal here until a few years ago when the wording was changed on primer requirements.
personally, i don't think i would trust it. probably unfounded doubt but that's just me.

Not in Tennessee.....Other than caliber restrictions and straight from the hunting guide; "Muzzleloading firearms are defined as those firearms which are incapable of being loaded from the breech." That's it in a nutshell.

I was just wondering....Is th Electra still being offered by CVA? Thought they didn't go over too well and were discontinued.

Thats where I was thinking about buying one, stainless steel/camo stock for $209 but for some reason Sportsmans Guide won't ship one to Tennessee

i never heard of a recall on the Electra. Checked their website as well, nothing.

They do have a recall on the 1995 and 1996 model cva inlines but thats it.
