I just got a CVA Accura V2 with the Nitride barrel. I'm planning on using Blackhorn and Barnes.
My question is: Has anybody had any experience with this barrel in this finish as far as cleaning tips and or accuracy?
Thanks.

Blackhorn cleans up with gun solvent just like you'd use on your other guns versus hot soapy water like other black powder require. I run a couple dry patches down the barrel before using any solvent to remove most of the black residue which helps with cleanup. I don't see any advantage to swab between shots when using blackhorn either.

I just ordered one off Gunbroker. Best price I found. (Wholesale Guns in Al. $488.00) All the reviews say its one of the best so thats what I'm going with next year. I'm gonna shoot the same powder (BH 209) its the best I've found. Now that being said I used the same set up In my TC Encore for years with great results. I think you got a great set up! :super: . Not to piggy back on your post, but I shot 110 gr. in my Encore with a 250 Powerbeats. Is this what you recommend in this rifle? Is there a better set up?

My scope just came in a few days ago. Have not had chance to shoot it yet. I've got a package of Barnes 250gr TEZ, 250gr TMZ, and package of 250gr Horandy SST. Hope to get out to the range in a few weeks. I'll let ya know how it goes.

I hunted with a cva accura v2 LR nitride this past season. I found that a 80 grain load of blackhorn measured by volume and a 250 grain Barnes tez did the trick for me. Also butch's bore cleaner does a nice job of cleaning it up. Hope this helps.
