My land is extreamly thick. I have a buddy with a DR brush mower. We are thinking about cutting in the deer trails from plots to sanctuarys that just happen to cross the trails we use about 25-30 yards from our stands. We will cut these once a year or as needed and that will be the only time we are on them.

Anyone done this? What do yall think?

I have just picked a place in a early succesional growth, and just when through with a saw and pruners and made a trail. The deer abandoned their regular trail and have been using it every since.
 
Been doin it with a machete and a bow saw for years. Congratulations on locating a mower. They love it by the way.

Always drives me nuts when I cut a very thin trail to a stand in thick cover only to find rubs and scrapes in the trail a few days later!

lol. Yep. Then the whole time you are on stand you keep looking at the trail thinking....man I hope I didn't leave any scent coming in.
