Daniel, you asked about cuting one the other day, so here goes.
I had replaced the rifle scope of this gun and could not get the proper eye relief required. The stock needed to be cut to give the proper relief.
I removed the recoil pad and determined I need to cut one inch
off the stock. The stock is hollow and I needed to see if the pad would have proper support for the screws to put the pad back on. Part of the pad extends into the stock so I needed to make sure the pad would fit properly after cuting.
As I did not have the proper tools for doing this work, I use a
Dremel took with a cut off wheel to cut the stock. I wraped
the stock with tape and then measured one inch and then put a line all the way around the stock and then cut by the line. Everything turned out pretty square. What little bit it needed, I squared up a sanding drum.
Put the pad back on and tried to put the screws in. They would not go, so took it back off and tuck a drill and run it in each hold to make it deeper, well had to try this a couple of times as I did not want to go to deep.
Finally got everything done to where the pad would screw down tight and looked good all the way around.
Took a pen and marked around the pad and then took a sanding disk in the Dremel tool and ground everything down close to the lines. Put the pad back on and tightened everything down and
used sandpaper and the Dremel to finish the pad.
Everything turned out real good. You could never tell it was cut.
One thing don't do this in the house in the computer room as I did. Got plastic from the stock all over me and the room. Just got through cleaning up.
If you try this, take your time, check everything twice and be careful.
