Out of curiosity, when do you consider it too late to go hunting in the evening? A lot of people have jobs that dont allow them to hunt during the work week and are limited to only hunting weekends. If everything works out right and I can leave work 15-30 minutes early, then I can get in my stand by 6p.m. If I know I cannot make it to my stand by 6p.m. then I wont go hunting. Instead, Ill go home and wish I was in the stand and keep thinking this evening would have been the evening that big mature Tn. bruiser walks by and gives me that broad shot at 15 yards. Out of curiosity, when do you consider it too late to go hunting during this time of year (before time goes back)?

This early in the year I usually try to be in my stand by 5.No later.Once the time falls back I get to my stand at 3pm for evening hunts.

any time you can get up your stand it's not too late??? have shown up 30 min b4 dark and killed deer 5 min later.... cover scent your trail and watch it.

My mentality has always been that if I show up past 6 then I risk the chance of spooking deer or educating that big buck that might be making his way to feed for the night. However, who is to say that the deer wont start moving later or earlier that day. I guess it is the chance we take, just like walking to my stand 1hr before daylight, deer might be hanging around my stand at that time or that big buck may be making his way to his bedding area during that time. Thats why I love deer hunting, its unpredictable!

We all know deer hunting is alot about luck. Its just common scense. If you know u got a big buck in the area dont risk it, but if your out for the meat then just remember "You cant kill em if u dont go". Ive gotten off work late and climbed in my tree with only 45min left of daylight and killed. It has to be somewhere u dont make a ton of noise walking in tho.

Same here.
Couldn't tell you how many I've killed that showed up within 5 minutes after I got set up.
No such thing as too late until it's dark, in my opinion.
