I will be fishing the Cumberland River this weekend (around the ashland city area). I normally fish Kentucky Lake so it will be a bit different. Can anyone give me some ideas for techniques to use. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

I have always found the cumberland to be hit and miss. You could try going back in the creeks a little ways early in the morning. I would not go very far. Up stream of Ashland City, you have Sycamore Creek, Sams Creek and Brush Creek. You also have the entrance into the bay where the condos are at Ashland city. If I recall correctly, there is a small creek that dumps in there at the mouth of the bay. Sometimes spots hang out there. I would also consider rocky banks that drop into good depth. There is allot of timber on muddy banks that look really good but the water is too shallow. You might try them if you can find some in good depth.
