CRP

What exactly is CRP? I know that it is a program to help reduce soil erosion and bring back native grasses. I have also heard that they will help you pay for your land but do not know if this is true. IS this a good program to join, does your property have to met certain requirements to be part of this program and what are the advantages and disadvantages of joining.
