there is no thur-sunday,its friday-sunday . its set that way because only a set # of days are allowed per federal regs ,this gives the widest time frame to hunt them. it lets them raise young just like any other season

There is a set number of days for hunting crows by federal regulations. Tn chose the June 1-Feb. 28, Fri-Sun format to accomodate those days.

The restrictions go back to a negotiated treaty with Mexico. The US was wanting better protection of waterfowl that wintered in Mexico. Mexico wanted to better protect their ravens. Since crows can be mistaken for ravens, Mexico negotiated restrictions on crow hunting in return for waterfowl hunting restrictions in Mexico.
