Crossing property lines question

Hey guys I am having a discussion with some hunters about trespassing. I am being told it is legal for a person/hunter to enter property that is properly posted to retrieve a hunting dog? Is this true? And what if the property is not posted? And if this is true then what's the purpose of posting your land if people could just use the excuse I am looking for my dog...

It is a legal defense against trespassif signage is not posted at all major point of ingess. Signage does not affect hunting without permission.

A hunter has NO legal right to go on land where they don't have permission to retrieve anything, including a hunting dog.
