So I'm looking into hunting area 3 at cross creek. I looked up the legal info on ther website. But does anyone have any tips about the deer pop or how they act. Is it usually packed there?

Honestly numbers are dropping

Refuge is really run by TN National manager who don't know squat about deer management
His goal is to kill ever deer to save duck food, personally said that to a group of us, BSK told me staff had told him the same about TN National

Oh Unit 3 has very limited access points, and it's very easy to get off the Refuge cause they only mark the trees on the private landowner side, kinda stuipd....but it causes problems as hunters wander off refuge. Most landowners are put out with Refuge Management, good way to get a ticket from sheriff for trespassing.

Just got online and filled out my application for the quota gun hunt and I see that they've changed vendors and all accumulated priority points have been lost.


Looks like numbers will be further dropping with them opening the refuge for non quota muzzleloader.

Just now read the new regs, between the new Youth hunt and open muzzy quota hunt Im not sure the gun hunt will be highly sought after.
Do they even want deer on the refuge?
