Crops at Gooch

Man and I started brushing our blind yesterday.
Left with a question.

There is a field of corn right across the railroad tracks.
I was wondering if they would harvest it, leave it standing or bush hog it.

Far as I know there is NO way to get a combine, of any size, to that field.

Man said, if they mow it, wouldn't that be baiting?

I have no clue so I thought I would ask here.
Just curious really.

If they were to bushhog it, it would be baiting for waterfowl. That is where the rules on doves and waterfowl differ.

If that area is floodable, I suspect they will leave it standing and flooded, but have no personal knowledge of their system.

Take that back, they don't harvest that field. But they haven't planted that field in years. But yes they usually leave it standing.

They don't harvest or cut any of the crops that Ive ever seen at Gooch.

if it is plantable, they could get to it to harvest it. As stated, they will probably leave it standing. You cant touch it in any way to waterfowl hunt, unless you just harvest it. No knocking it down, no running a boat or 4 wheeler over it. Nothing. However, deer and coons do knock a lot down.

Cripple duck swimming away in standing corn to far for a shot and the water is too deep to wade and you have no dog. What to do? Motor through corn to be close enough to retrieve it or refrain from knocking over any corn and letting the duck go to waste.

Not sure, but that's the law. Not sure how they would enforce it, but it cant be knocked down in any way, unless of course nature, or wildlife, or if it is harvested.
