Crime Ring Targeting Yamaha Outboards

Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) alerted its members Wednesday, saying crime rings are responsible for stealing boats, Yamaha outboard engines, Garmin electronics across the country.

Stealing aluminum trailers is a problem as well. Back your trailer into a spot if possible.

My mechanic gave me the heads up already and said " you know you have the most popular Yamaha motor to steal" ? He told stories of guys with saws all just cutting thru the stern! Hopefully I will catch them trying that with mine. Apparently these guys will " take an order" for an engine and will have it within 24-48 hours. Crazy!
