hunted a little hardwood creekbottom this morning that i hadnt in many many years. Bout a 1 mile walk in so i was a touch late in getting there. it was a blast. action was very fast. shot squirrel 3 at about 70 yards. looked like a solid hit, he tore out and jumped to the next tree and then fell. he was not recovered due to the underbrush present. ended up with 10 grays on 11 shots (due to losing squirrel 3). last squirrel hit the ground at 725, but the trees were swinging like wild as i left. could have filled a 20 squirrel limit easy. only saw one fox and gave him a pass when i knew i wouldnt need him. what an amazing morning to be in the woods. if yall aint hunting squirrels now, u have no idea of the challenge that u are missing. so far 4 hunts and 40 squirrels. me and hillbilly are going in the morning. 100 squirrel challenge will still be tough.

Got 3 greys yesterday morning. Woke up to no .22 bullets thanks to lil bro, so had to resort to the ol scattergun.

Way to go Redblood. That is great hunting and shooting anytime and especially in these hot, dry, and breezy conditions. I am looking forward to the rain and cool down. PH

next weekend should be good, but honestly squirrel movement could not have been any better
