How many of you put fish attractors out ? What do you use? Water is down on KY lake, thinking bout trying to put out a few stake mats..

We have used pvc pipe a couple times. At my buddies rental slip we sank a couple Christmas trees and have tons of luck there.

pvc and branches (not cedar-too hangy)

Stakes or pvc drove deep in the mud. For brush piles I use a concrete block wired to the brush. Backs of creeks sheltered from current, use one block. On the river or in open creeks where heavy current can flow during high water times, its best to use 2 blocks. I have used a block with a few stakes through the brush to help hold it as well. Ky Lake current can get bad when the river comes up. Anchor your cover well.

im thinking i read your supposed to have a permit to build brushpiles ect any more, dont know if its enforced or not,our xmas tree gets added to a pile in a local hollar :)

I used to nail, then wire, a christmas tree to each corner of a 44" x 46" pallet. Then I would put weight in the middle of the pallet, usually block - but I came into a collection of old cut up railroad rail once.

Then I'd sink those pallets on underwater points starting on the deep side toward the creek channel and move up into shallower water with each pallet. This allowed me to move up and down the point from deep to shallow depending upon where the fish were.

I'd put them out in March or April in the middle of the night. People with depthfiders found a few, but if they didn't know how I'd configured them they couldn't really fish it right.

PVC pipe in a spider form in a small bucket (I used old tree buckets) of concrete works good...most depthfiders didn't pick up the pvc pipe, only the concrete.
