Crappie bait

Got to thinking about putting out my minnow trap to try and catch some minnows to use for Crappie here before long.

Figured I would just throw it off in the pond close to my house.
Then I wondered, if you caught some small bream in the minnow trap, how would they work for bait for crappie?

Never seen anyone use anything but minnows.
I don't see why they wouldn't work?

We've used them before.. catching with a cast net. They will work but not as well as tuffies/shiners in our experience in the past. We don't use minnows anymore though, just jigs.
