Try to find some Dolgo, Hewes,Transcendent, or Brandywine. Theres alot more to choose from as well. Most any domesticated crab will be larger than the wild ones we have in my area. I would just order quality trees from a reputable source like Adams County Nursery, Century Farms Orchard, or Edward Fort Nursery and schedule a Fall/Winter delivery. You can sometimes find some of these locally if you look around enough.

Southern Crabapple trees have apples about an inch in diameter and I'm thinking of using those myself. I tried the small crabapples and deer don't seem to like them but my Southern crabapples are eaten. The Tennessee Dept. of Forestry has them available for $75 per 100, and discounts for larger purchases. free shipping to your county. Go to http://tn.gov/agriculture/publications/ ... atalog.pdf for more information. I have heard Dolgo is also a good crabapple.

Thanks for the link Treefarmer. I live within 20 miles or so from Delano and didn't even know that place existed. If and when my logger gets finished I will be checking them out.
I bookmarked the link for future use.
