I just shot a coyote about 20 yards from my stand. Will it laying there affect any deer movement? Does anyone ever get the pelts tanned? Not sure ow much damage the 7mm did yet

Depends a lot on the type bullet and on whether you hit bone.

I mouth squeeked this one in a few years ago and killed it with a crossbow.
Turned out pretty good.
Think they call it a trappers mount.
He put a little foam in the body to give it some thickness.

I've shot several while hunting and it doesn't seem to matter. Deer cautiously walk around them but otherwise don't stress too much.

I've dropped pigs on a food plot. The deer really didn't like it there, raised tails and stomping, but after a while they settle down but keep a keen eye on it.
