Can anyone recommend a good DVD or book to get a novice started in Coyote hunting? I've shot a few and seen a lot more while deer hunting, but I want to do some serious shooting this late winter/early spring.

To be honest the best way is to google coyote hunting basics and read, read, read. The best videos for us Eastern hunters are done by Byron South. He hunts a lot of areas that are similar to TN. I have a few of his and they are great. He also goes into great detail about his setups. A few good sites to hang out at are:

Byron kills a lot of coyote but I picked up very little info from his dvd's. He likes to kill a dog and then show ya he was only 100yrd from the truck. He's an East Texas killing machine for sure, but he aint a eastern coyote hunter. (not saying he can't kill one, but his hunts are filmed in the West) The most info I've ever gotten from a dvd is made by Crow Creek Production, I think it's called Eastern Coyote Vol 1. At the end of the video he has good tips on calling, set up, and scouting. This is just my 2cents

He is the best that I have seen on how he does the setup and explanation. His dvd "Hunting the Thick Stuff" is a great one. A lot of the areas he calls in that video resemble the areas I call here in West, TN.
