Coyote hunting question

Coyote season is open year round but do you need any kind of license to hunt them ( hunting / fishing and big game rifle )?

And if only small game and fishing license needed, can you just hunt them with rimfire ( 17 hmr )?

Yes, it requires a license.

You can hunt them with type 01 combo hunt/fish (resident). However, during the gun deer season, you will not be legal in using a centerfire weapon unless you are a legal big game hunter. That requires the big game license and blaze orange. You could use a shotgun or rimfire during that period without the big game gun license.

On the weekend of the January Young Sportsman hunt, only the youth hunters will be legal to take coyotes with a centerfire rifle.
