I've got some land thats full of coyotes and they've never been hunted to my knowledge. do yall have any suggestions for the best method to use this time of year
 
Get you an electronic caller and set up down wind of where you think they are going to come out at!I live in east tn and have an E-Caller,if you would like I could bring it by and we could call em up!!LOl

cannot possess a firearm while chasing coyotes from 1st Saturday in Nov. to end of deer season.
 
deer season is closed in unit B at this time,under legal arms it dose state centerfire is not legal during deer season,if it was closed from the beginng of bow season it should state the opening & close dates,the way it reads if deer season is closed then its legal to hunt with them.reckon it needs clearer instructions in the book or somebody is reading it wrong,mike243
 
So I can't go coyote hunting tomorrow with my centerfire rifle?I thought that as long as no deer season was in then it was okay to hunt coyotes with a rifle?Well this royaly sucks!!Now im gonna have to Rabbit hunt all day tomorrow!

haha i might take you up on that. i dont know how much the coyotes affect the fawn population during the warmer months, but i know they did damage to our turkey population. These things are gettin out of hand! not to mention the stray dogs we've had runnin deer
 
buckhorn40 your question is a little too vague. You can call year-round (daylight hours). Whether a big game season is open or not determines what equipment you may use for harvesting coyotes.
 
What kind of callers has everyone had success with? What are best mouth, hand, or electronic?

Are there any good electronic callers that work well for under $150?
 
I have a johnny stewart preymaster and it is a real good one!It is very loud too.Only bad thing is though,it has a cord that runsfrom the remote to the speaker,but for the price you can't beat them.I have no problem rolling it up and rolling out when im coyote hunting.I got mine brand new still in the wrapper from a member here for $80 I think,I see them sell for $100 in stores.They also make a wireless prey master for $200.But for that extra $100 i can roll and un roll the cord,it also comes with differ sound cards,you can get them for deer and turkey,along with your preadator.
 
I agree on the Preymaster. I have used one and called dogs in on the first stand with it (could be coincidence LOL) and have had some more luck also. I don't care for the cord myslef. I also use a lot of hand calls and have had just as much luck with both. PM me if you have any more questions.
