I decided late Friday night to get up and do a little hunting on Saturday morning before the rain set in. It was breaking daylight as I set-up my decoy and mojo critter. I was easing downwind to get in a deer stand before I started calling. I had made it about 30yds when this coyote popped out of the sage field. I shot her at 52 steps with a 3 1/2" load of Remington HD BB's. I noticed my pattern seemed a little high at the shot but as I played it back thru my mind I was a little high when I touched it off. I was impresssed with the HD bb's as I skinned it out. I counted 15 different pellet wounds on the entrance side and only found one that did not make it all the way thru. It was lodged under the skin on the opposite side in the shoulder area.
I wish I could say I called it in but I didn't, I just didn't have time. I would rather be lucky than good anyday.
