Have finally decided what camera to buy. The covert black flash. If I order from covert I can get an extended warranty and their software . If I order from Amazon I can get it cheaper but I don't see where I can get a warranty or their software. So I guess my ? is, how important are those things? The warranty would be great but how important is the software? I'm very new to trail cams. Have some old used one's that have me a fit. Thanks Ted.
 
You will get a one year warranty when you buy the camera. I agree with hawk. If you really wanted the extended warranty, then get it from covert. Also, they update their website often and you can check to see if there are any firmware updates for the model of camera that you have. If so, they have instructions on how to update it. Good luck. Covert is a great camera and great customer service.
 
Buy it from Amazon. Then go to the Covert website and register it. Once you have registered it, you can buy an additional year of warranty to go along with the 1-year warranty that comes standard with the camera. I have 7 Covert cams and have never purchased the extra year of warranty.

Whatever you do, make sure you register the cam on their website.

You can buy from Amazon with confidence. You do not have to buy the camera from Covert in order to be able to buy the extended warranty from Covert.

I agree that Covert does have the best customer service.
Among the cams made in China (which is most of them), Covert probably offers the best price vs. value, and you're less likely to even need their customer service. But I've had few cams work exactly as advertised, including the several Coverts I've used.
