Thinking about buying the mp6 black model. My question is can this cam be locked up with a python lock? I had a camera stolen from me last summer and would like to know if you can lock up the Coverts?
I just purchased the Covert Code Special Ops with a lock box (http://store.camlockbox.com/) and python cable. Unless the tree its attached to is cut down, it seems pretty hard to steal.
Yes, the body of the camera has holes to pass a python lock through. However, like most cameras, they are plastic. Anyone with the ability to break plastic can easily steal your camera. A better option is to use the steel security box designed for the Covert MP and bolt it to the tree and use the python lock with the security box. If you are really concerned about theft, the best option is to mount your camera high on the tree out of sight and angle it down at your target.
The box has a hole at the bottom front for a padlock and holes on the sides for a python cable. However, some scumbag trespassers quickly destroyed one of mine with a crowbar and stole my Spypoint camera that was inside. If they want your camera bad enough, they will find a way to get it.
Dang Verm! You should try one of the cellular cams. Maybe it would text you at least one pic before they destroyed it. I caught tresspassers on my property last year and apparently they been hanging out on my place for years.
