Covert black 60....

I've been running one for about six months. About 10% of the pics I get are complete white out, or blackout. Seems to happen at any given time. A few moments later I might get a normal pic.

Anybody else had problems like that? Are they a hassle to deal with sending it in?

I just got a new one. It works great, but the batteries pop out when I open it. If you are a member of a forum that "Covert HQ" (Pat Howard) posts on, he will likely help you out. If aren't, I can ask him about it if you want me to. I don't know from personal experience, but I've heard they have great customer service.

I had a problem like that with my spypoint but it was pointing toward the sun , I ended up moving the cam and it started to work perfect since then

I've been having that same problem.
While the battery bay "appears" better than most, it is not. It's actually worse. My batteries often pop loose in transit, and sometimes just upon shutting the door. Can sometimes be near impossible to keep them from falling out if the cam is pointed down at much angle.

My redneck fix has been to duct tape in the batteries.

When I first got the camera I asked the Covert HQ guy I mentioned earlier, and he said the issue was fixed in the 2014 models. He also recommended using a small piece of cardboard to hold them in place.

While that would work in preventing the batteries from disengaging contact while the cam is in use (like pointing down at a slight angle), it will not prevent the batteries from losing contact when you open the door to exchange SD cards (which should normally be many times between needing to change batteries).

I'll stick with the duct tape. :)

I honestly haven't even tried it myself. I also forgot to add that he said something about certain rechargeables are bigger in diameter so they fit better.

The slide in battery pack on Moultrie cameras was a great idea. It completely eliminates any battery problems.
