thanks. sept 27. i wanted to have it down by at least sept 15 but we got that rain labor day and put me behind, but since it looks like we probably wont have any hard cold temps by january and i think it will do great and add a lot to the soil. yeah i have had to water 2 or 3 times but clay soil holds water pretty good. i put down 7 pounds of peas and 15-20 pounds of oats since i broadcast the oats. and then i set my rear tine at about and inch and forward cultivate it to cover the seeds, and it appears by doubling the oat rate it was about perfect because the oats that werent covered didnt germinate, but the peas did.
anyway, i didnt do the barley because the co-op had meal bugs in all the seed bags and barley takes quit a bit more water than oats.
