Cornmeal Gravy

I'm not particularly excited about the idea, but I kept reading.....then I found this gem. "This humble meal shows that there is often a very fine line between hillbilly and hipster."

Every gravy I can remember has been smooth. I'm not sure how impressed I'd be with a grainy gravy that resembles grits.

sounds interesting... Does sound like a "souped up" form of grits...

I wonder about using almond meal instead, just to get away from those much-maligned corn products. I've cut corn meal out of 80+% of my cooking, and almond meal has been a tasty substitute in most cases.

Might have to give this a shot soon and do some "steak and gravy" thing, for once.
