Anybody ever try doing this? I love corned beef so I thought I would try doing it with deer. I have looked at lots of recipes and they say to brine the meet anywhere from 7 to 35 days depending on different recipes.

Has anybody else tried this and maybe have any tips?

theres a thread on here where a few have done it,i plan on it this year if i get lucky

i found it,thought it was nimrod but he posted too much to go back that far :) ,found it from my replys

Thanks I tried to look back as far as I could for a topic on this but I could not find one is why I started a new one.

Everybody says to use Morton's Tender Quick but I can't find it anywhere in Dyersburg! I have been to every store in town and nobody has it!

LOL, yeah, it was me, ya buncha whiners!

I stumbled onto corning venison years ago from a short recipe in, I think, Outdoor Life. The results were simply incredible, and for anyone who isn't accustomed to eating venison, or who doesn't care for the taste of it, corning will win them over.

Walmart used to carry the TenderQuick, but when they stopped I bought a 6-pack of bags off Amazon, and simply have them in stock storage.

Not even sure where the discussion on it is, but I'll see if I can find it.
