i am ,and iam also a KCBS certified bbq judge just wondering if anybody else on here is ,,,, the name of my team is Piggin Aint Easy .

I have always wanted to be but I don't know anybody that has a team.

I used to be on one and want to get on another one.

One think about BBQ teams or any cooking team for that mater. If all you want to do is party and not worry if you ever make the list then they are fun. If you are in there to win then they are a ton of work and one little mistake will cost you big time.

I'm wanting to get on a team that wants to work.

Lets say this, it's CHEAPER to go on a guided hunt out west every year than have a cooking team who is serious about winning.

I know two different COUPLES that are their own man/wife team and both couples place in the top 25 in every contest they are in. They both told me that most years their expenses are a little over $60,000 a year, they are gone from home 6 months a year. Most years they break even.

its not cheap by any means , but fun as all get out ! you can easy dope off a thousand dollars on every cook , but sponsors help.. ive got a few trophies but for the money we spent i could of bought a hundred trophies . but once you are called up to that stage its all over your hooked !

I'm on a team sometimes on the Memphis circuit. Its a little between serious and party for the team I'm one but I'm just in it for the fun. It can be expensive and sponsors, if you can get them, really helps, but in some cases that just makes for more work. You can choose to do the smaller ones, the big ones, or both. Just depends on how much time, money, and energy you want to put into it.

I work with 2 girls that cook at some of the smaller competitions around here, and they've been very successful. They prefer the ones that use Kansas City rules.

I have cooked in a few, but its more fun to have a paying one.
