Does anyone have one of these like the Livewire? I have always wondered how to get back in my stand if I fell, or if I would have to hug the tree and then cut myself loose. This would take those worries away. I thought about ordering one but not sure how bulky they are. Any opinions???

I have the livewire and it is kind of bulky but not too terrible. My biggest issue is if you use the summit rope to tie off to, the livewire has to hang and can cause unwanted movement or sound against the tree. It has velcro straps on the back to attach to a tree strap so this is not an issue, but I do not like tree straps, I prefer the rope with a prussic knot.

Also there is no way to test if they work, its pretty much a one time use and you hope it works as stated.

Somebody makes one that is reusable, can't think of the brand though

I think you are thinking of the rescue one CDS harness. Yes it is reusable, but you also have to be concious to descend as there is a rope to pull to lower yourself. The Livewire descends regardless.

Downsafe makes a system very similair to the Livewire that after use you can send it back to the factory and they will inspect and refurbish for a fee.

I have the Livewire but I have not fallen to see how it works but I feel better with it in case I do fall!
