I will soon be getting my carry permit, but only have a Springfield XDM .40 to use for carry for the time being. I will later get an LCP or Kel-tec .380 for a pocket gun, but the budget doesn't allow for this yet. For this reason I was wanting to ask for some feedback on which carry holster was reccomended by everyone for this gun. I know that I will get opinions from all over the board (after all, they are like belly buttons...) but would like to know a starting point for my search. I know that any holster is a trade-off between concealment/comfort/draw rate for this gun, but that is why I want to hear the pros and cons from y'all's experience on gun of this size. SOB, crossdraw, inside the pant/hip (ouch!), etc.? Material? Brand?

Check out Theiss holsters. He used to work for Crossbreed. His holsters are the same quality at considerably less money because he does not have the big overhead that CB does. You also don't have to wait 6-8 weeks for it. Tommy guarantees his holsters for life just as Crossbreed does.

On the Theis and Crossbreed, they look like they are hot and uncomfortable. Why do you like these over others?
 
holsters to me are like glass on a rifle- get a good one no matter what. if i were you i would try the Bianchi acculok lether holster it is around 80 dollars or so but for a full size they are good holsters... my belly buttons worth :laugh:

I'm willing to try anything, and I will pay what it is worth. Why do you like this one?
 
I have looked at Bianchi, Galco, and others, but I want to know the pros and cons of all of these, as they all look very similar in pictures. Why does one man prefer inside waist band, the next man high on the belt, the next on the ankle, and the next SOB?
 
If you leather a bianchi up like a ball glove and work it in it gets real comfortable on your waste and of course the acculok mechanism is awsome cause no one can come up and snatchity snatch your weapon!! ;)
 
I like Concealco holsters. I have a CrossBreed and love wearing it, but hate putting it on. It takes too much time to put on. Instead, I opt for the gun that wears the Concealco holster. It takes literally 5 seconds to put on.

i have had my crossbreed on since i got it going on 2 years ago. even at work, i am wearing the holster. i just leave the gun in the truck. it is very comfortable and concealable.
 
i love a paddle holster too but for concealed carry of such a large handgun go pancake or in the waist band and ride the weapon on the back of draw side hip, that is why i say galco sky ops... or you could get a shoulder rig like Bruce Willis from Die Hard!!! ;)
